 Hunger Games 101

Hunger Games 101: Professional Development Ketron and Central Heights Elementary participated in a unique training on Tuesday. The Hunger Games 101 in-service introduced educators to the culture of poverty and it's obstacles. Teachers participated in a hands-on interactive experience that helped them begin to understand what life is like with a shortage money and other resources. Participants assume the roles of different families facing poverty. This experience aimed to deepen the participants understanding of the daily challenges faced by kids and families living in poverty and how to bring attention to the need to build significant relationships with our students and families.

The Hunger Games 101 will also be adapted and used as a Career Exploration tool for 4th & 5th grade students at Ketron & Central Heights Elementary.
