Bluff City Middle School Students Are EPIC!

Each week students, who exhibit EPIC behavior, are nominated by the BCMS staff.  EPIC stands for Encourage, Protect, Invest and Connect. Those students who are selected are recognized by signing their name on a star and these stars are placed on the EPIC board at the entrance to BCMS.  So far this year, four students have been recognized.  Back left to right: Ashley Nunley, Mabel Olson.  Front left to right: Deonna May, Noah Smith.   Congratulations to these EPIC Students!

 Miller Perry First Grade News
First Grade at Miller Perry has been learning about Author's Word Choice and how to choose more descriptive words in our writing.  We looked at character faces and tried to describe their feelings.  Then, each child was given a feeling word to illustrate on a picture of their own face.  The children came up with some wonderful facial expressions and learned some vocabulary as well!

Rock Springs Principal and Teachers Complete Ice Bucket Challenge

Rock Springs Principal, Dr. Josh Davis, and the fourth and fifth grade teachers completed the Ice Bucket Challenge in support of ALS.  Teachers also made a donation to the ALS foundation.  Students enjoyed watching Dr. Davis and the teachers get soaked with buckets of ice and water.  Rock Springs accepted this challenge and issued the same challenge to all the other elementary schools in Sullivan County and their principals.
