Good Deed by Central Heights Elementary Student

fooddrive

Arwen Pike, a 4th grade student at Central Heights Elementary,  decided she wanted to do something for her school.  So, this past summer, she collected donations for the school's food pantry.  She received $200 as well as donated food.  She used the money she received to purchase more food.  She presented eight large food boxes to Central Heights Principal Jeff Hickam on July 31, 2013.

As part of her project, Arwen put together a folder of her experience.  The folder contained the presentation she made for donations as well as the outline for that presentation, an inventory of the food she collected, and a list of donations.  Arwen is proud that she learned many things from her project and that she helped others through her hard work.

Central Heights Elementary School is proud of Arwen!

Promotional Program for Frontier Health

darden

Frontier Health heard about the Marketing Program at Sullivan South High School, and they requested assistance form students in developing a promotional program for their Traces Foster Care operation.

The 5th period class of Marketing I met with four representatives of Frontier Health on August 14, and students provided them with approximately twenty ideas for increasing awareness and participation in the foster care program.  For example, students suggested Frontier Health should have a presence at college orientation programs for students and their parents to make the need for foster parents clear to these "Empty Nesters".

An example of a slogan is, "Traces will put you in Happy Places!"

Frontier Health personnel were very happy with the ideas that were generated.  This was very beneficial for students because they functioned as if they were an advertising agency.
