Schools Board members were recognized by schools in recognition of School Board Appreciation Week.

Student Celebrations
 

  • Samuel Brashears, Sullivan North - Received the Niswonger Scholarship
    Niswonger scholars are chosen for leadership potential, commitment to personal excellence, and commitment to service in their home communities.  For more information on this scholarship, visit the Niswonger website.     
       
  • Central Heights recognized the following 4th graders: Cody Pugh, Brayden Stringer, Austin Williams, Jacob Cross, and Gracie Harrington.   
     
  • The following students from Sullivan South took 1st place in Rehobeth ASVAB test: Sam Johnson (highest score in the nation), Ben Firth (2nd highest score in the nation), Jacob Tilley (2nd highest score in the nation); Daysia Boyd, and Ben Luffman.  This is the 6th time in 10 years that Sullivan South has taken 1st place.   
     
  • Jacob Tilley of Sullivan South High School has been appointed to the US Air Force Academy with a $444,000 scholarship. 
     
  • The following students from Sullivan South High School made perfect scores on the Algebra II End of Course examBeth Compton, Lane Brickey, Justin Douglas.

  • The following students from Sullivan South earned all A's in their classes in either the 1st or 2nd nine weeks period:  Elaine Brickey, Amy Clemens, Avery Davis, Hannah Lawson, Megan Peck, Taylor Pinto, Victoria Scarce     
     
  •  The following students from Sullivan South made All-East Senior Clinic Band this year: Kimberly Parker, Erika Sanders, Katie Masters, Curtis Peters, Christine Sass, Nick Norton, Jake Brickey, Guy Bortz   

Board Chairman Report
Mr. Wells praised the students of the Sullivan East Bluegrass Band for their excellent performance last Thursday during the called board meeting.  He also acknowledged the excellent meal provided by Sullivan East Culinary Arts students.

  • Operational Capacity for Buildings

    The board granted approval for the director to begin considering adjustments to attendance zones.  The board identified parameters for this process.  The process will consider operational capacity, enrollment, and projected enrollment.
