PAC Newsletter
October, 2012

Greetings my friends,

October has been a whirlwind of excitement, new experiences and great expectation. PAC's Pancake Pajama breakfast & Sensory Swim events yielded lots of smiles, special moments and sheer fun. With over 225 pre-registered guests, our Halloween celebration is sure to extend that spirit of inclusion, family and fun.

Speaking of being delighted, in an effort to extend its reach and include engaging new community leaders to promote and support positive experiences for children and families affected by Autism, the staff and current board of Play-Place for Autistic Children are happy to welcome new board member, Judith Rosso. Judith is a partner of the accounting firm Cech, Rosso & Company. She brings a wealth of certified public accounting and business expertise. We are pleased that she is joining PAC's board and look forward to Judith's participation and contribution.

Lastly, I'm very proud to announce that I have been approved as a member of the Utica-Shelby Kiwanis. After a "guest" visit and subsequently speaking to the organization about PAC, their purpose and comradery lead me to join this very dynamic group of people in making a difference in people's lives.

While 2012 is rapidly coming to a close, PAC is just as steadfast in opening our doors, hearts and opportunities for all of our families challenged by autism.

Pancake Pajama Breakfast: A Delicious Success!

Pancake Pajama Breakfast
Pancake Pajama Breakfast

A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who attended our Pancake Pajama Breakfast. Chris Cakes served up delicious pancakes, sausage, and other breakfast treats to families who were treated to cartoons, balloon animals, crafts, and an all around great morning of fun. We sincerely hope everyone who attended left happy, full, and invigorated. We were thrilled to have State Representative Marilyn Lane (Fraser, Mt. Clemens & Clinton Twp) and State Senator Steve Bieda (9th District) come out and volunteer as well. Be sure to check out all of the pictures from the event on our Facebook page or by clicking here.

Thank you everyone for making this event a success!

PAC Partners with NAPA & Community Auto Care Coalitions

Last Month, we announced our partnership with NAPA and the NE Michigan BDG groups as PAC's official community sponsors. Below are a list of stores who are helping to raise money towards PAC's mission to develop a center for families affected by Autism.

Fundraising started October 1st, and is continuing through the end of the month and beyond. Each customer who donates will receive a free set of wiper blades, plus, NAPA and the Auto Care Center will "match" your charitable contribution multiplying your gift to PAC times three, making it go further! We are immensely THANKFUL and ecstatic to be involved with such a great group of people who have committed themselves to our cause and urge you as parents, family, and friends to visit participating stores for all your auto care needs.
