MEC-Prince William Client Profile:
JS Morlu, LLC CPAs

By: JS MORLU, LLC CPAS

JS Morlu, LLC CPAs (ww.jsmorlu.com) is a registered CPA firm in Virginia and D.C. We provide CFO Services, DCAA/FAR Compliance, Financial Review/Auditing Services, Audit Readiness, Business Advisory, and Accounting System Solutions to businesses, not-for-profit and government. Our commitment to quality is demonstrated by our membership in the National Peer Review Committee, and the Governmental Audit Quality Center.

When we started our CPA firm, we were looking for an office. As is the case with most small startup firms, we had limited cash so could not afford the luxury of a big office. We were directed to the Mason Enterprise Center in Prince William. We met with Renee Younes and we instantly felt comfortable. She demonstrated to us that she really cares about the small business community, having being a small business owner earlier in her career.

We have had no regrets during the nearly two years we have been at the Mason Enterprise Center in Prince William. The management and staff at the Center are amongst the best professionals, always caring and supporting our work. For instance, when we needed an office in Woodbridge to do business and personal taxes in 2013, Renee went all out to ensure that we got a place in Woodbridge and negotiated the best price for us. She worked out all the details, including coordinating the signing of the lease agreement and moving us in. Her assistant Rizza Villacorte is also very considerate, always making you feel welcome. They provide top notch customer service.

Further, the Mason Center Prince William is not just a client support center. They want each business to grow and succeed, so they are always finding new and innovative ways to connect small businesses. As a small business owner networking is critical and Renee and her team make it all possible.

Research and Development Tax Credits for Virginia Businesses

Qualifying companies from a number of industries can benefit from state and federal R&D tax credits. Unfortunately, these credits are often overlooked by companies that assume they must have a laboratory on-site or fear that they could trigger an IRS audit. With the Virginia application deadline approaching on April 1, small businesses should take steps now to understand the state program and decide if they can benefit.

The Mason Enterprise Center at George Mason University and CohnReznick invite you to a morning seminar that will address:
  • Who qualifies
  • How it works
  • The benefits to small business
  • Other considerations
