The first quarter of 2013 has been an eventful one for the North Port Economic Development Corporation.

  • Membership is now 50 and growing
  • The Star supporter program was announced and twelve members have stepped up to become the first Star supporters 
  • Newsletter subscribers has grown to 226
  • Annual meeting had 131 registrations
  • 13 articles have been written about our work
  • Multiple radio interviews have occurred
    The ACTION Initiatives/Vision were launched on January 25
  • Community presentations on the ACTION Initiatives/Vision have begun
  • We launched the ACTION Initiatives/Vision survey
  • We participated in the North Port Newcomers Day

And these are just the highlights.

Annual Meeting
Thanks to everyone who attended our first annual meeting on March 19. With a packed house (131 people registered), it became very clear that the North Port Economic Development Corporation is an organization with a vision that is embraced by the area's movers and shakers.

While the government is responsible for economic development, it is the private sector that makes economic development happen, and the North Port Economic Development Corporation will focus its efforts on working with both the public, civic, and private sectors to create economic engines and catalysts for economic development.
