Greetings!
Happy New Year
As the new Chairman of the Board of Directors for the NPEDC, I am delighted to be able to work with a very dedicated and talented Board of Directors and Advisory Board on carrying out the goals and objectives established for the organization. As we enter our second full year of operation, we will be publicly announcing the five visions that we have been aggressively working on over the past year. Under the leadership of Mimi Steger, our outgoing Chair, a great group of volunteers have spent many hours identifying and fine tuning these visions for our community that will significantly enhance the economic health and welfare of North Port in years to come.
Our non profit organization, which has been run solely by volunteers so far, has come a long way in one short year to create these visions. We have brought key leaders in our region together to discuss how and what we can and should be considering to move our community forward from an economic development standpoint. We have communicated with the City, with our Chamber of Commerce, with Vision North Port, and with our counterparts in the region to generate initiatives that North Port and the region will benefit from.
We encourage both businesses and interested individuals in our area to become members of the NPEDC and sit at the table with us, to ensure that North Port generates quality jobs and creates economic catalysts that will drive economic metabolism for our community.
We will continue to foster and encourage positive and measurable economic development through entrepreneurial thinking, collaboration and innovation. That's or role, we want to work with our counterparts in government and the private sector to make this happen to the benefit of us all.
