Industry News Release

Good Sight, as the Australian Distributor for Ryko Vehicle Wash Systems, is proud to announce that Ryko Solutions,

the largest provider of managed car wash systems in North America, has entered into a purchase agreement whereby Ryko will acquire MacNeil Wash Systems of Barrie, Ontario, Canada, a leading supplier to the tunnel car wash segment of the industry. The combined company will become the second largest car wash equipment provider in the world.

The MacNeil brand name will remain intact as will the company's manufacturing facilities in Canada. MacNeil will operate as a subsidiary of Ryko Solutions, retaining the staff expertise and operating flexibility that has made MacNeil a market leader for the past thirty years. Vince MacNeil, former CEO of MacNeil Wash Systems, will join the Board of Directors at Ryko, a move heralded by Steve L'Heureux, CEO of Ryko Solutions, as instrumental to the joint company continuing to build on its success in the conveyor segment of the car wash industry.

Water Costs

The cost of water is increasing rapidly with many water authorities raising charges at 20% per year and Victoria
in for a 37% increase this year.

In 2011, ACWA produced a Calculation Sheet for Members showing the annual savings from reducing mains water use
for the Automatics.

This TABLE will be updated after the increases come into effect in July this year but, in the meantime,
log into Members ACWA Website
and see how much water efficiencies
can save you even at 2011 prices.

Washing Up !

Busy times recently for ex-ACWA President, Philip Down at his Carewash site.

Firstly, when it was the venue for a "$5,000 Turtle Wax Car Washing Competition" run by Sydney Radio Station WSFM 101.7 - 3 lucky listeners were chosen to participate and the fastest and best wash/wax won the money. see photos

Then, about a week later Philip was approached by an Advertising Company whose client needed to wash a vehicle 110 times to ensure that their product was long lasting. Philip shut off his automatic to the general public and two advertising agency employees spent 2 days sitting in the car as it was washed 110 times.

Yes !  That is right !

110 PAID car washes.

Philip wants to know if anyone can beat that ?

the clients product did work

Watch Out !

An unusual robbery occurred recently at a car wash site when the intruders connected a garden hose to a self serve bay gun and "flooded" the change machine which 'jackpotted' out an amount of coins.

To Bob and Julie Clapham - long time ACWA Members from Tasmania, who recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
