Building for the Future: How to Sustain Your Community Partnership

This one-day workshop will explore the challenges faced by communities looking to maintain and expand their local initiatives and explores long term ways to effectively function using available resources.  

 

Explore sustainability in the context of a community-based prevention practice and the Strategic Prevention Framework.future

 

Learn the 3 sustainability principles

 

Develop concrete actions in planning for the sustainability of your prevention efforts.

 

Who Should Attend: This workshop is ideal for community based coalitions with limited or no funding streams or communities/providers interested in developing alcohol and drug prevention coalitions in the near future.

 

Location: NYS Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services, 501 Seventh Avenue, NYC.

 

Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm

NEW YORK STATE CREDENTIALING INFORMATION

Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Training

 

 

As of September 1, 2012, licensed providers reimbursed by Medicaid must complete an OASAS 4 hour approved training to continue to bill Medicaid for SBIRT services beyond September 1, 2012. Health educators and unlicensed practitioners must complete at least 12-hours of training facilitated by an OASAS approved SBIRT training provider priorto offering SBIRT services.

OASAS has scheduled the following FREE two-day, 12-hour trainings.  For Registration, locations and dates, please click onto link below. 

  

Educational hours: This training meets established standards for 12 education hours for Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC initial Section 3 and renewal), Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP initial Section 2 and renewal), and Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS initial Section 2 and renewal).

Financial Literacy Workshop at Staten Island's YMCA Counseling Service

  

The Y in partnership with Wagner College is offering a Financial Literacy Workshop for young adults ages 21-30 who are interested in learning about money management and opportunities.
