PTO NEWS and EVENTS

C'mon!  We Don't Bite!!

When we see a request looking for volunteers to run for the PTO Board, we all think, "Someone else will do it;" or, "I don't want to compete for a position;" or even, "I don't have time and won't know how to do it."  So, guess what happens.  Yup. No one comes forward. There has never been a better time to make a difference for our children. Come volunteer with parents who are welcoming, supportive, smart, and have a great sense of humor if we do say so ourselves!  The PTO Officers have 15 children among them, so we understand time restraints and priorities!  If you'd like to volunteer with the PTO, we will find or create a position that fits your passions and needs, give you training to succeed, and promise you will not be turned away.  We know you will not regret volunteering with the PTO!

For more information:

Contact PTO President Angel Platt at plattplace@gmail.com or call

Peaksapalooza:  Ready to Rock?
Then Save The Date!  Saturday, May 18, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Peaksapalooza will be a K-12, live, music-themed, end-of-the year celebration right here at TPCA!  There will be food, activities, and great music.   We still have an opening for one lucky volunteer to head up the decorations.  Please contact Tiare Bedell at trebedell@hotmail.com  if you are interested in helping plan this exciting event.

Feast with Fang Contest Results

Of the 12 parents who attended the March PTO Meeting, 4 were Kindergarten parents.  This resulted in Kindergartners winning the contest for having the most parents from one grade to attend the meeting! Kindergarten students will enjoy their prize of having lunch with Fang soon, and we are certain that Fang will enjoy learning table manners from the Kinders!  PTO Officers would like to say thanks to the parents who attended.  It was really nice hearing great ideas and different perspectives.

Please Come To Run or Vote at the next PTO Meeting!

The next PTO meeting is Wednesday April 10, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Cafetorium. Please come join us as we elect next years' officers, talk about upcoming events, and laugh over a light snack before ending at 7 p.m. sharp!  Doesn't that sound inviting?  Our meetings may surprise you; we hope to see you there.  Oh, pssst.  There is still time to run for the PTO board if you are interested!

Seussical
Seussical the Musical

Thank you to all of the incredible volunteers and dedicated students who helped make Twin Peaks Charter Academy's first full-length musical, "Seussical," a success!  Each and every one of you played an integral part in putting the show on stage!  And what a great show it was!  More information about cast and performance pictures is coming, but if you'd like a video recording of the show, please stop by Mrs. Freeman's room to sign up.  They are $5 each, and we'll be happy to make as many as you'd like!  Thank you again, and bravi tutti!  We're looking forward to next year's show!

High School Tutors

Did you know that your elementary and middle school student can receive homework help from our own high school students?  On Mondays, beginning April 8, high school students will be available in the East Campus Media Center from 3:10 to 3:55 p.m. You must contact Lori West to sign your student up for this free opportunity. Students must be able to walk to the East Campus Media Center from the elementary school; you are free to escort them.  Please arrive promptly at 3:55 to take your student home.west_lori@svvsd.org

Supper for the Speer's

We have a fourth grade student at our school, Josiah Speer, who has been battling brain cancer all year.  Josiah goes for treatments every Monday, so as a show of support for this family I thought it would be a help to provide meals every Monday for the remainder of the school year.  Please contact me for details if you would like to provide a meal for the Speer Family. THANK YOU!!  Leandra Casanueva

Penny War Fundraiser
