Requirements For Maximizing Profit
"Be sure you know the conditions of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds; for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations." Proverbs 27: 23
Requirements for maximizing profits:
* Good Planning - "But the noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands." Isaiah 32: 8. Proverbs tells us that a wise man makes many plans but God directs the path. It is better to be on God's agenda from the beginning. We have the tendency to plan, then tell God how great these plans are and how we can use them to better His kingdom. We plan then pray for God to bless our plans. Better to pray, then plan from God's direction.
* Good Accounting. "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it.?
Luke 14: 28. We plan, see the vision, are captivated by the potential results, and start only to not be able to complete the project. " --- everyone who sees it will ridicule him." (verse 29)
* Good Management " He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgement." Proverbs 12: 11. There is more to success than watching it happen, good management requires constant attention to details.
* Good Idea " It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way." Proverbs 19: 2 Is it a God idea, or a man idea? We all have embarked on an idea we thought was good, only to find there was not a market for our idea. Find a need, then go meet that need.
* Good Reserves " Go to the ant you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest." Proverbs 6: 6-8. We need to resist spending our profits as soon as we get them and prepare for times of adversity. Maximizing profits does not mean there will never be a time of no profit.
When God blesses us with abundance, we need to remember who gave it and to always acknowledge that God has "bought us with a price" and, therefore, He owns the return as well as the investment. God wants to bless us, but, He will not bless us with more than we can handle. In the mist of abundance, we need to continue to trust in Him and not the abundance.
