Dear Fuller Meadow Families,
I need your help with two things. I've been contacted by the bus company regarding "Rainbow Loom" which are the fun and fancy bracelets that are the exciting new trend at Fuller Meadow (and everywhere else!) Please speak to your child about not playing with the small elastics on the bus, as they can obviously become a hazard. I am not "banning" the bracelets or necklaces at this point, however, I am asking you to reiterate with your child the safety ramifications of taking apart the bracelets and playing with the elastics. I've asked the bus company to write up any child who is using the elastics in an unsafe manner. And if you know that your child will be tempted or distracted by this new phenomenon, please don't allow them to bring them on the bus or to school. I appreciate your anticipated support with this! Thanks!
Also, please remember that if you are having your child met by someone different than you or straying from the normal routine at pickups or at the bus stop, you MUST write a note indicating the name of the person who is meeting your child. The bus company won't allow students off of the bus, unless they are aware of a procedure change. Please let us know if you have any questions.
One last thing...we need volunteers to cut and count box tops. If you are able to help out, please give Mrs. Garber a call, or email at JGarber@middletonps.org .
Have a wonderful weekend!
Please remember, we have an early release on the 25th!
Be Well,
Diane Carreiro

Fuller Meadow School will have their costume parade at 11:00 a.m. on Halloween. The parade is scheduled outdoors, and parents are welcome to view from the parking lot. (Please carpool or walk if you can, as our parking lot will fill up fast!) A Connect ED phone call or email will be sent in case of inclement weather to inform parents of any changes. Please note that if it rains, the parade will be cancelled.
Halloween parties will occur in classrooms at a designated time on Halloween. Teachers and Room Parents will plan accordingly. Due to the fact that there are children with severe food allergies, unless you have been contacted by a room parent or teacher requesting food or drink, please do not send any food or treats to school. This helps control the classroom environment for potentially dangerous allergies. Thank you for helping keep all children safe.
Halloween costumes worn for the parade should be easy and quick to put on. To some Fuller Meadow students, masks are frightening, so please keep scary masks and all toy weapons at home. Also, be aware no hair coloring or face makeup will be allowed. Thank you.

Progress Reports are coming home today for all students. Please sign and return. Thank you.
With the cold weather arriving, please make sure the children are dressed appropriately for outdoor recess and their clothing is labeled. Except for extreme cold, the children will go outside for recess.
Students with after school playdates cannot ride buses other than their own. Alternate arrangements need to be made.Exploration Station students need a permission slip every week to be able to attend.
Fuller Meadow collects Boxtops for Education. They can be found on many common food items. If you send them in, we would appreciate if they are cut along the dotted line and have not expired. Thank you.

Math facts fluency is an important part of learning how to compute accurately and efficiently. Students can use flashcards at home to practice math facts. When using flashcards, be sure to focus on a few facts at a time. Also, it would be very helpful to focus more time on subtraction as this seems to be a more challenging skill. Some mental strategies students use are: count on, count back, doubles, doubles plus one, and doubles minus one. Thank you in advance for helping your child learn their facts and know them from memory. On this website, http://www.apples4theteacher.com/math/addition/flashcards/ you can find flashcards and practice pages to print out.
