News from the Counseling Department
Week of April 25, 2016
Senior Parents:
With two and one-half weeks left for seniors, please take a few minutes to ensure that your senior student is passing all of his classes, has completed all of his distance learning classes, and secured an Early Grade Report form for his Pima classes. If you have any questions about your student's graduation status, please feel free to contact his counselor and/or the teacher of any class that you are concerned about. We look forward to seeing you at graduation!
SAT/ACT for Juniors
As a reminder, we highly recommend that all juniors who are considering attending a four-year university immediately after graduation take the SAT and/or ACT in the spring of the junior year. There are a few more opportunities to test this school year. The SAT will be given on June 4 and the ACT will be given on June 11. The registration deadline for both is early May. To register, visit http://sat.collegeboard.org for the SAT and www.actstudent.org for the ACT. Please contact your student's counselor if you have any questions!

- You'll have to identify the specific secondary education program, college or certificate/degree option you want to get into, or for which you which you need funds. You may be looking to enroll or already enrolled in this secondary educational program.
- If you are a minor, you'll need written consent from a parent or legal guardian to participate.
- You must be willing to work with the Taco Bell Foundation's Scholarship Management Company throughout the award process.

WILL YOUR STUDENT GET TO DO PROJECT GRAD???
|
Project Grad is an all night party for our CDO Grads after graduation. This phenomenal program has been going on for our kids for over a decade.
Our Project Grad needs some help from our CDO families. Many of our volunteer spots, as small as 90 minutes are still vacant. Could you help? It's a great chance to give back to our school and community. If we don't fill our volunteer areas, we will not be able to continue this excellent adventure for our graduates. Both of my older sons still talk about Project Grad and I volunteer to ensure that my younger son will be able to spend this fantastic night with his friends.
Please consider volunteering for just a small job. Sign up using our link below or email me and we can talk about what you would like to do.
Thanks

CDO ANNOUNCEMENTS
DRESS CODE
- HEY DORADOS! This is a reminder that the dress code is still in effect. Ladies, your tops must have straps on the shoulders, no showing or exposed undergarments and your midriff, front and back, must be covered. Open or exposed backs on shirts are not allowed, either. Gentlemen, same for you: no exposed undergarments, no tank tops where the armpit hole extends to the waist, no exposed midriff and no images or language on shirts that violate the dress code. Dress code violators will be directed to Mrs. Henkel in Counseling where they will exchange their top for a CDO t-shirt. Keep it classy CDO.
STUDENT IDs
- A GENTLE REMINDER ABOUT IDs: IDs must be worn and displayed while on campus by all students. Around the neck or on the bag facing front is perfectly acceptable. In the pocket or out of site is unacceptable - students must have it on and showing. If you don't have it on or showing in front you will most likely receive a lunch detention. Thanks for your thoughtful cooperation.
