We will be offering placement testing for Pima Community College on Wednesday, March 23 in the CDO library. All students who are planning on attending Pima next year should take this test. Please have your senior sign-up to participate in the counseling office. Students must apply to Pima before they can take the placement test (www.pima.edu). Once placement testing is done, students will be able to attend a New Student Orientation for CDO Seniors at the Pima Northwest Campus on April 20, where they will receive assistance in registering for classes. Please contact your student's counselor if you have any questions.

AZMerit testing begins on Tuesday, March 29th.
Please be reminded that this is state mandated testing and that there is no "Opt Out" option available.
Students enrolled in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English 9, English 10, and English 11 or that course equivalent are required to test regardless of grade level.
For any seniors taking an AZMerit exam, the results will not impact your graduation. If a student is unsure if they need to test they should check with their English or Math teacher.
There is no change in our start/end time and buses will run their normal routes/times. All classes that are not testing on any given day will be taught as normal. All class period times will be extended on testing days.

PARENT ORGANIZATION UPDATE
|
Dear CDO Parent Community,
Monies Collected so far, ($940) will help cover the following costs:
Constant Contact: $498.60/year (March) Staff Appreciation Staff Meals: $1500 Staff Appreciation Events (Bi-monthly) $1000
Our weekly email program: Constant Contact costs us $498.60 every March. With this program we are able to email 2500 email addresses for our CDO community. Please watch your emails, as we will need to purge our email lists for people who no longer want to receive our emails but still get them.
As of yesterday, we paid for the weekly email to continue through next March. We would like to thank the 20 families that have donated to the CDO Parent Organization since our recent email request. As of now, we have received $940 towards our goal of $2998.60 for newsletter costs and staff appreciation commitments for this year.
We are hopeful that more families will donate to support our efforts in providing weekly parent communication and regular staff appreciation events.
Please consider a donation to CDO Parent Org so that we can cover our newsletter costs. If every family that reads our weekly email donated, we could cover all of our costs for our newsletter annual fee and staff appreciation events throughout the year.
Please drop off a donation to the office for CDO Parent Org or use our donate button below. We will provide you with a tax receipt for your donation.
Thanks CDO Parent Organization

Attention CDO Family:
The CDO Sign Language Club needs your help during the month of March for the 10th year of our service project called: Adopting CDO's Own. We gather items to send to members of the CDO family who are in the military serving overseas and we want to make sure we send them lots of fun things! The boxes are in various teachers' classroom. Also in the classrooms are donation jars for funds to help pay for the postage. If you know of someone who is serving overseas, please send their full APO address to Mrs. Sillman so we may include them.
Items, as well as money for postage, may be brought to the school to the attention of Mrs. Sillman, American Sign Language program ( nsillman@amphi.com or 696-5661).
When you go shopping, please think of those who are so very far from home and purchase one extra item for them. We send things such as Pringles, boxes of candy (like "Mike and Ike" or "Good and Plenty"), white socks, light blankets, small stuffed animals, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, twin size bed sheets, etc. Attached is a list of suggested items. Thank you for assisting us with this worthwhile project! CDO cares!!

CDO ANNOUNCEMENTS
DRESS CODE
- HEY DORADOS! This is a reminder that the dress code is still in effect. Ladies, your tops must have straps on the shoulders, no showing or exposed undergarments and your midriff, front and back, must be covered. Open or exposed backs on shirts are not allowed, either. Gentlemen, same for you: no exposed undergarments, no tank tops where the armpit hole extends to the waist, no exposed midriff and no images or language on shirts that violate the dress code. Dress code violators will be directed to Mrs. Henkel in Counseling where they will exchange their top for a CDO t-shirt. Keep it classy CDO.
STUDENT IDs
- A GENTLE REMINDER ABOUT IDs: IDs must be worn and displayed while on campus by all students. Around the neck or on the bag facing front is perfectly acceptable. In the pocket or out of site is unacceptable - students must have it on and showing. If you don't have it on or showing in front you will most likely receive a lunch detention. Thanks for your thoughtful cooperation.
