CDO Parent Org will be featuring staff and clubs in our weekly newsletters.  It's a chance to get to know our staff and our school a little better.

GET TO KNOW  TIM RIPP

QUOTES:  "The students really like Mr. Ripp."  "He cares about his students and CDO."  "He's always doing something to help this school."  "He's a great addition to our staff."

WHO IS TIM RIPP:

He is originally from Louisiana, but as a military brat he lived in many places including Florida, Mississippi and even overseas in England.   He graduated high school locally from Palo Verde High School and then jumped around to three different colleges before graduating with a degree in English Literature from California State University, Long Beach in 2004. He most recently completed a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Arizona. This is his tenth year teaching and his fourth at CDO.

His wife, Katy Spina, graduated from CDO, and during her four years here she was a sweeper on a state championship soccer team and was crowned homecoming queen and prom queen. She is still treated as royalty at home. She now works for the University of Arizona Foundation. They have a son, Rhet, who will be turning two in November, and a daughter who will be arriving in February.

This year at CDO, Tim teaches English 11 and 12, he sponsors the Key Club, and he announces the football games. The Key Club is a community service organization and has close to fifty students participating this year. In September, they worked with Youth on Their Own and JC Penney to provide local elementary students with clothes and shoes for the school year. Currently, they are sponsoring a food drive at CDO for the ICS Foodbank.
