Dear Senior Parent:
This is an exciting year for you and your student. A lifetime of commitment, guidance and love will soon bear fruit in the form of your senior's graduation. That graduation is one that we in the Amphitheater District want to be fulfilling and safe.
Much of the senior year remains ahead of us; there is much work to be done yet to get us to that milestone of a day. As the year passes, the excitement and anticipation which seniors feel (so-called "senioritis" or "graduation jitters") will inevitably and understandably grow. Sadly, however, that excitement can lead some students off course or into harm, interfering with their graduation. Like any other students, seniors who engage in unsafe or inappropriate behavior can jeopardize their right to remain in school. Additionally, where they are permitted to remain in or return to school, seniors can jeopardize their privileges to participate in the graduation ceremony and related festivities by their behavior. This can be devastating to seniors and their families. Even more sorrowful, of course, is the loss of student life sometimes experienced when seniors engage in risky behaviors such as alcohol and drug use.
Like you, we want to see every one of our seniors successfully graduate this year. They have worked so hard for this day and we want all students and families to enjoy every moment of this ultimate school experience. We are asking that you join us in reminding our seniors that they are leaders of our school community. They not only remain responsible for complying with school and district rules of conduct, but -- as our most mature students -- they should actually model the best examples of citizenship for their fellow students.
Please take a moment to remind your seniors of the hopes we share that this will be a safe, memorable and positive year for them. Remind them that they will determine their own successes this year. And, encourage them as always to do the right thing.
Sincerely,
Paul DeWeerdt
Principal

Friday, February 7, 2014
Attention CDO Parents/Business Owners;
We are still in need of more golfers for the Oro Valley Cup Golf Tournament on Friday, February 7th at the Hilton El Conquistador Country Club.
The Oro Valley Cup is the ONE and ONLY MAJOR fundraiser for the Project Graduation night held at all three Amphi high schools.
The cost is $150 per person or $600 per foursome. If you want to golf but can't get a foursome together, we will be pairing folks up to at least make a three person team.
AND-----approximately $75 of the fee is tax deductible! Your fee includes a sandwich lunch and a nice dinner. We'll have raffle and silent auction items that day too!
It's not too late to sign up. Go to www.ovcup.com to complete the registration fee online or you can email
Greg Fitzgerald at 544-9390 or ovcup@yahoo.com.
If you can't be there for the golf fun and own a business, consider making a donation. Holes sponsorships are $150 for one course or $300 for two.
It's a great way to support ALL of our Amphi senior students and enjoy the great Tucson weather!
