Welcome to Homecoming Week!

I would like to personally invite you to join us on Friday night when our football team hosts the Maricopa High School Rams. The Rams are 3-3 on the season and just won a close game last week against Marana High School. Our Dorados enter the game with a record of 5-1 for the season after a great win last week against Catalina Foothills.

The CDO Student Council has organized Homecoming festivities for the week that include various themed spirit days, lunchtime activities including a car bash, and a Homecoming Spirit Assembly. They have also declared the game to be a "White Out." Everyone attending the game is asked to wear white to show your school spirit and your support of the Dorados. You will have a chance to see the CDO "Green Machine" Marching Band perform their show "Playing with Fire" at halftime. There will also be a "Glow Dance" for students that will start after the conclusion of the football game in the North Gym. The weather is beautiful, and it should be a great night for football.

This week marks the end of the 1^st quarter and teachers will be posting quarter grades for students. Next week is Fall Intersession, and students and teachers will get a much-deserved break. The CDO office will be open throughout Fall Intersession if you need assistance with anything.

The week after fall break is College Week at CDO!

In celebration of the 19 colleges we have visiting CDO that week and to support our goal of promoting a college going culture on our campus, the counseling department is sponsoring College Week the week after fall break! So, tell your student to grab their favorite college gear and show off their college spirit every day that week! And, while they're in their college logo gear, tell them to come by the counseling office and visit the various college representatives that will be on campus throughout the week. Look for specifics about which colleges will be visiting below. It's never too early to start thinking about college, and these visits are for students of all grade levels! Please have your student go by the counseling office to pick a permission slip for each college that they want to visit with.
