Last call for Honors Assembly forms!
If your senior has not already turned in his form from the graduation packet that had him list the colleges he was accepted to and any scholarships received, please have him do so immediately! That form is used, in addition to being our main source of data collection, as a way to gather information about who deserves to be recognized at the Honors Assembly. The form was due last Friday (April 26) and, although it may now be too late to have the information printed in the Honor's Assembly program, we will still accept the forms and will announce the information contained on them at the Honors Assembly.
Senior Parents:
With two and one-half weeks left for seniors, please take a few minutes to ensure that your senior student is passing all of his/her classes, has completed all of his/her correspondence and distance learning classes, and secured an Early Grade Report form for his/her Pima classes. If you have any questions about your student's graduation status, please feel free to contact his/her counselor and/or the teacher of any class that you are concerned about. We look forward to seeing you at graduation!
Summer School at CDO
Summer school registration is now open! Summer school will be held at CDO this summer and registration is handled on the CEP website at www.cep-az.org (hover over "Community Ed" at the top of the page and you will get a drop down menu that includes "high school summer school"). Information regarding dates, fees, and courses offered can also be found on the website. Please remember that if your student fails a course that is required for graduation, they must make up that course in order to ultimately earn their diploma. Summer school is a great way to make up that credit!
Online Summer School
The Amphitheater School District will be offering online summer school again this year. There is no fee for online summer school, but we urge you to consider carefully before signing your student up for an online class. Online classes require a great deal of self-motivation and a certain level of maturity in order for a student to find success in the class. If your student is interested in taking a class online this summer, please have him/her see their counselor to get a referral.

CDO Landscaping Project Needs Tax Deductible Donations
Canyon del Oro High School is a beautiful place for students to learn. However, the entrance to the school is in need of some attention. This semester, Patti Schmalzel, Administrative Intern for Principal Marcia Volpe, will be leading a group of alumni, students, and volunteers in beautifying the circular drive in front of the school.
The lay-out of the design for the project is being completed by Jim Luckow's Advance Construction Technologies students: Isaiah Unruh, Meredith Alarcio-Caldon, Lauren Bowyer, Matti Clayton, and Keith Cook.
Students from the National Honor Society and Ceramics classes are also involved. The project includes laying new ground covering and installing boulders. Native plants will be artistically arranged, along with new drought tolerate trees.
We hope to begin installing the rock and vegetation on Saturday May 4th. So far, the CDO 70's Alumni group and Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society have donated monetary and materials help.
However, we need additional financial help to purchase the remaining needed supplies and materials. If you are interesting in making a tax deductible donation for the project, please make your check out to Canyon del Oro HS and identify CDO Landscaping in the memo line. Checks can be dropped off to Rhonda Baker in the administration office.

Project Graduation needs your help
We are well below our target goal of 200 prizes.
Project Graduation is just weeks away and we are very excited to provide our CDO graduates with a memorable night. A big part of that night involves prizes and our goal is that 50% of the students leave with a prize.
This year we are extremely low on donations (money and prizes). The kids have made a wish list so we thought we would include that to make your shopping easy!

Smaller Prizes: Mini Fridges, Flat screen TVs, IPods& MP3s, Microwave, DVD/Blue-ray player, Luggage Set
Gift Cards: Target, Restaurants, Ikea, Department Stores, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, iTunes, Grocery Store, Music Stores, Amazon, Book Stores, Movie Theater and other entertainment venues.
