Summer School
Summer school registration is now open! Summer school will be held at CDO this summer and registration is handled on the CEP website at www.cep-az.org (hover over "Community Ed" at the top of the page and you will get a drop down menu that includes "high school summer school"). Information regarding dates, fees, and courses offered can also be found on the website. Please remember that if your student fails a course that is required for graduation, they must make up that course in order to ultimately earn their diploma.
Summer school is a great way to make up that credit!
Coming soon: information regarding online summer school opportunities
We do not have online summer information yet, but hope to have it soon. There is no fee for online summer school, but we urge you to consider carefully before signing your student up for an online class. Online classes require a great deal of self-motivation and a certain level of maturity in order for a student to find success in the class. More information will be posted here once it is available.

On March 21 - 23, the CDO Engineering Club competed in the FIRST Robotics Regional Competition in Chandler Arizona. The objective of the competition was to deliver a student- designed and built robot that was capable of working with a "team" of robots to deliver Frisbees into various goals, then to climb a pyramid. The robot was to perform autonomously initially then was controlled by a driver for the balance of the "game period". Following a dozen matches, CDO'S robot placed 15th among 50 teams from the region including Arizona, New Mexico, Sothern California and Mexico. This was by far the highest "Rookie Team" finish for which they were awarded the Highest Rookie Seed Award. Additionally, because of the CDO team's "spirit of ingenuity and creative use of recycled materials, plus their community outreach and grasp of the true spirit of the FIRST Robotics objectives", they were given the coveted Rookie All-Star Award which includes a special invitation to compete in the FIRST Robotics World Championship in St. Louis Missouri April 23 - 27.
100's of hours of student and volunteer support were put into the preparation for the contest with generous support from various regional companies. Amphitheater School District should be proud of their future engineers for their accomplishments thus far and for setting high standards for future CDO Engineering Club members.
