Golf Tournament Great Soggy Fun!

Despite some truly unfortunate weather, a great time was had at Presentation's 14th annual Golf Tournament on Friday.  We'll provide a full report on the event later this week as well as a final donor thank you list.  It is not to late to be added -- click HERE to donate.
30 Hour Famine Students Raise over $7500

Almost two dozen Presentation School students participated in this year's 30 Hour Famine, led by 8th graders Natalie Gulrajani and Hannah Porter.  They went without food for 30 hours to help bring awareness to and stamp out world hunger.

Said teacher advisor Tracy Walthard:
"I had the privilege of spending 30 hrs with 19 amazing students. I am so proud of them! 30 hrs no food, made 80 sack lunches for Brown Baggers, and raised $7,500 for World Vision. Teaching continues to give me hope for our future! These kids are inspiring!!!!!"
Donate Your Used Books Today!

Please consider dropping off any children's or young adult books that your children might be done with for our Used Book Sale (on May 14-16 from 1-3:30pm).  This is a great chance to clean out your bookshelves and, at the sale, to stock up on summer reading for your student!  If you might have time to work the sale, please sign up for a shift on the library door.  See Mrs. Natuzzi for details.

TRACK MEET Is This Friday

Our track meet is this Friday!  All middle school students should plan to be at Presentation NO LATER THAN 8AM on Friday (note the earlier than usual time).  The event will end around 3pm and parents are responsible for transporting their student home or coordinating pickup from SRJC at the end of the day.

Our last two practices that we urge all students to attend, are this Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-6:30 at SVH.
Presentation Grad Isabel Garon Shatters

Speaking of track -- a huge congratulations to Isabel Garon, Class of 2012, (and brother of Miles in 6th grade) for shattering the SVHS polevaulting record with a jump of 9'9" last week!

4th Grade Explores California History in Coloma

Grade 4 just returned from three days in Coloma, studying the Gold Rush (and panning for gold!) as the culmination of their California history curriculum.

The Coloma Outdoor Discovery School's Gold Rush program is designed for fourth graders, and is correlated with the California Content Standards. The program is designed to celebrate the culture, music, and folklore of the California Gold Rush while using lessons of the past to awaken students' interest and sense of responsibility for the environment.

At CODS, students live in tents and experience the Gold Rush: stories, songs, skits, and characterizations all help to convey the social and economic community of early Coloma. Students walk in the footsteps of the 49ers and experience some of the challenges of surviving away from home.  All of the educational programs at the Outdoor School operate around the concept of respect: for nature, oneself, and others.
If you haven't yet signed up, please log in and grab a spot today for our student-led conferences in May.
