Last Chance to Support our 30 Hour Faminers
This year's 30 Hour Famine is led by 8th graders Natalie Gulrajani and Hannah Porter (above in the Famine t-shirts) and supervised by Tracy Walthard.  More than 25 middle school students have committed to going without food for 30 hours to help stamp out world hunger.

The famine will be held THIS Friday and Saturday. In addition to an overnight at school, learning about poverty in South America, and abstaining from food for 30 hours, the students will also be conducting community service at the Redwood Gospel Mission in Santa Rosa!

This is always an impactful event for our youth and a great way for our students to be hands on during this Lenten season.  They have all been working hard to raise money in conjunction with the event.

Click here to support our students with a small donation.
Watch a Great Video About
Technology At Presentation!

A big thanks to Beehively for putting together this video to show parents what our students were up to on our Technology Demo Day!  Click HERE to watch it.  Ask your student about it!
8th Grader Genaro Pamatz
Selected As Davis Scholar

Earlier this year, Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa announced a new program to help launch Latino/Hispanic leaders called the Davis Scholars program.

This program provides full-tuition, four-year merit scholarships for students of Latino/Hispanic heritage who will be the first in their family to attend college.

Starting with the 2014-15 academic year and continuing through 2018 - and possibly beyond - the program will fund at least 16 high-achieving students from Sonoma County.

Our very own Genaro Pamatz was chosen as one of the first five Scholars!  This is a tremendous honor and the scholarship award exceeds $130,000!  Congratulations Genaro and mom Alma Chavez!

Said SA Head of School Janet Durgin: "We hope and believe that the Davis Scholars program at SA will become a model for other communities and schools across the country."
