Presentation School Begins Preparation for its Third
 30 Hour Famine

Nearly 40 students attended the 30 Hour Famine information meeting. For this world renowned community service event, students fundraise through World Vision to help feed, cloth, educate, and provide health care intervention for underprivileged children around the world. For only $35 a month all these service can be administered to a child. That's only $420 a year!

The famine will occur on April 25-26th. Students will begin their fast at lunch at school on Friday, April 25th. The participating famine group will stay at school, including overnight, for the next 30 hours, learning about the challenges of poverty in South America, and how we can make a difference. For a portion of the event we will be in the community doing community service. This is a powerful and impactful event for our youth. We will break the fast (famine) together with a meal on Saturday evening at 6:30pm. If you would like more information regarding the 30 Hour Famine, you may contact me at twalthard@presentationschool.com; our student team captains, Natalie Gulrajani at ngulrajani@presentationschool.com; or Hannah Porter at hporter@presentationschool.com. We would also love to have you visit the website, www.30hourfamine.org.

The Presentation School Golf Tournament
is Coming Your Way April 25

Enjoy a day out on a gorgeous golf course with some of your friends and join us for our 14th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, April, 25, at Eagle Vines Golf Club in Napa. Registration is at 11am - shotgun start is at 1pm. $190 will get you lunch, golf, use of putting green, use of driving range, cart, fantastic dinner and more laughs than at a clowns convention! Not a golfer, then join us for dinner and dancing at 6pm.

The FUND A NEED at the golf tournament this year will raise the rest of the additional funds needed for our school to go 1:1 with Chromebooks, for professional development for tech in the classrooms, more IT support and lower school wish lists like smart boards.

Email Nancy Bei at nbei@presentationschool.com to reserve your foursome today or click here to learn more. Online reservations will be available soon.
Fifth Grade Visits Waste Water Treatment Plant
Over the past two weeks, our 5th grade has both hosted a staffer from the Sonoma County Water Agency and headed off campus for an all-day site visit to the Sonoma Valley Wastewater Treatment plant and the Hudeman Slough Wetlands.

Our students traveled to the Russian River and the County's groundwater pumping facilities to experience firsthand the source of our drinking water.

The Sonoma County Water Agency's Water Education Program reaches thousands of students every year with lessons and materials on water conservation and stewardship of our local watersheds. All curricula and instruction offered is aligned with California State Science Standards for grades K - 12.

of the Sonoma County Science Fair

While we reported last week on the great success of our middle school science fair team, we learned late this week that Alexandra Garber has indeed been chosen to represent the county at the California State Science Fair with her participation is sponsored by Synopsis and Natalie Gulrajani was selected as the first alternate and she may be going as well.

In addition -- Natalie, Lauren, Mikaela and Betina were all invited to the San Francisco Bay Area Regional Science Fair at the end of this month.  Above is another cute photo from that day at SSU.

Then we had pizza and hot dogs at the warm puppy cafe. Then we went ice skating and stayed for disco lights!!!
