Presentation Welcomes Mary Favaro
Presentation is excited to welcome Mary Favaro who will take over Katie Faircloth's middle school math and science classes while Katie is on maternity leave through Easter vacation.
Mary is a credentialed k-9 teacher, specializing in middle school math and science. She received her Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University in Chicago and taught in The Latin School of Chicago and the Chicago public schools during her teacher training. Prior to joining the education world, she received her MBA from Stanford University and spent ten years as a business consultant in Australia, England and the U.S.
Mary is excited to be at Presentation and she says: "Our class time will be structured around engaging and challenging problem solving activities. I'm very comfortable adapting my classroom approach to meet the needs of my students, and I believe that every student can learn successfully."
On a personal note, her daughter Stella, is an eighth-grader at Presentation.

Zero Period Band Class Seeks Additional Students
Presentation School is very fortunate to be able to offer a zero period Band Class every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7:30am to 8:10am. Under the enthusiastic leadership of professional musician Aaron Redner, the group has a great time writing and singing songs that they create together.
The band class is currently seeking additional students from grades 4-6 in particular, but older students are also welcome.
No experience required, just a love of music, songwriting, and a desire to learn how to form a band! All instruments/levels welcome!

School Library News!
Starting this week, Presentation's school library will be implementing a new overdue book policy. Depending on the grade level of your child, he/she is allowed a certain number of books for a certain number of weeks:
K-2 -- May check out 1 book for 1 week
3-4 -- May check out 2 books for 2 weeks
5-8 -- May check out 3 books for 3 weeks
(Books can be renewed if the student needs it more than the amount of weeks allowed)
We will be issuing overdue book notices to parents on Fridays via email. If after the 3rd notice the book has not yet been returned, an overdue book payment notice will be emailed. A blanket fee of $10 for each and any book overdue will be charged to families. However, if the book is returned before it is replaced, your $10 will be returned.
Thank you for your support and cooperation. Marietta Natuzzi, Librarian

Kinders Explore May Area Science Museum
Blog by Mia:
We went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum. So, first we drove from Presentation and we had a children's Discovery Museum helper. Then we read a story about bugs then we went in our language arts groups and then we started to look at different bugs. After that we made our own bugs with clay and leaves and sticks. Then we played there playing give away the garbage because there was a room with stuff about recycling.
There was lots of games we could play. We played a game when garbage came at me and I had to choose where to put it. Then we played outside on the boat and rocks and the stick maze and the construction place. Then we had lunch outside in the sun. Then we went into the wave room where we got to make our own waves. Then we went in the sea room and I played goddess of the sea. Then we came back home. It was a fun trip! Then we played at recess when we got back. Then we went home.
