Science Fair Winners Announced
A HUGE congratulations goes out to all the middle school students upon their completion of this year's science fair projects. The projects truly reflect the best work of our students. Each project represented months of hard work in planning, executing, analyzing, researching, and presenting a scientific experiment. It is especially gratifying to see the students integrate scientific thinking and critical thinking skills as well as their individual flair into their projects.

Thank you to the teachers, parents and the community members who served as judges.

Ten middle school projects (plus two alternates) were selected to go on to represent Presentation at the Synopsis Sonoma County Science Fair Competition at Sonoma State University on March 1.

Coyote Winds Author To Conduct Writing Workshops with our Upper School Students

The upper school is having an author visit tomorrow in the library.  Miles Garon's family has a personal connection with the children's book author, Helen Sedwick.

Her book, Coyote Winds, tells of the times leading up to the Dust Bowl, a time of optimism and confidence, a time when a man was measured by what he produced, not what he could buy. It explores that American can-do spirit that drew people to the last frontier and the consequences of that spirit. And it asks whether that spirit survives today.

Miles read Coyote Winds and loved it. He connected Mr. Kuschner and Helen and they arranged for Helen to visit the school tomorrow.  She will do mini-workshops with the students about writing.  5th and 6th grade are meeting in the library at 9:30-10:30am and 7th and 8th are meeting from 11:30am-12:30pm.

Charlie Brown Cast Visits Snoopy Museum

To get in the Peanuts spirit and to do some original research on their characters, the leads of our upcoming production of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brow" traveled with Flo Glavez to the Charles Schultz Museum in Santa Rosa on a field trip last week.

Classrooms Celebrate the Legacy

of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Each classroom looked at the history of Martin Luther King, Jr's contributions to American society in a different way.  In one classroom, students chose an aspect of how King changed the world, created a portrait and wrote a caption.  Stop by the classroom windows to see them all. The work is outstanding!
