Greetings!

This is a very busy and exciting time for Presentation. There are many ways to celebrate and support the school in the weeks ahead.

Thank  you to everyone who participated in last Thursday's Winter Open House - besides seeing what our kids do daily, we welcomed a number of families interested in joining the school community.

Please share the news with interested friends and neighbors that this Saturday, Jan. 25th,
is our Experiential Admissions Tour from 9:30-11:30am.

Lastly, you simply cannot miss the Presentation School's Annual Crab Feed!  This is your night to have too much fun, while the kids aren't looking (Crab, Live Rock n' Roll, Drinks, Crab, Dancing, Ping Pong, Crab, Pasta, PING PONG!)  Click here to reserve your space - tickets are going fast.

Finally, we hope that everyone is enjoying their long weekend and getting healthy!  There are all kinds of flu bugs and germs around.  Please help your child to eat healthy, wash their hands, go to bed early and to drink lots of water.  If you see any sign of the flu or a bug, it's best to keep your child home until he or she is better...
Register for PERKS Today!

We are offering lots of great after-school enrichment classes this winter, including Computer Programming, Chess, Futsal, Crochet, LEGO Robotics, Movie Fun Club and Creative Card Making! Classes begin the week of January 28.  You can register in the office or download the registration form below.

Science Fair News
The annual Presentation School Science Fair will be January 22 - 23.  The middle school students have been hard at work on their experiments and engineering projects since late September.  We are all very excited to showcase the exciting science that has been happening in the middle school.  We would like to invite parents of all grades to walk through the science fair and talk with students about their projects on Wednesday, January 22 from 1:30 - 3:00pm.
5th Grade Tours SVMA and Creates Hands-On Project

Our 5th grade last week had the opportunity to tour the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art with a docent and to participate in a project as part of the Art Rewards The Student program.  A big thank you to school parent and artist Rosemary McNeely who has arranged for us to work with the museum and to create pieces that will be on display at the museum in the spring.

Families Step Forward to Make This Crab Feed The Best Yet!  Raffle Tickets for Sale Now!

Thank you to all of our school parents who have stepped forward to support our upcoming Crab Feed.  It is sure to be a terrific time -- stop by the office to buy your tickets this week!

For the event, we have donations of cheese by the Crean family, various wines and spirits from many school families, pasta and salad from the Veronese Family and music from Jeff Bundschu, Scott DeMartini and Rich Little. Our school parents will also be serving, cracking the crab, cleaning up and working behind the bar. If you can possibly help serve or clean up, please email Nancy Bei.

Adding to the fun this year will be ping pong and live music!  Click HERE to reserve your ticket or table!
Kinders Enjoy Train Town

Our kinders had the time of their life at Train Town last month!  Have you ever seen such happy faces?

6th Grade Creates Mummy Masks

Last week in Social Studies, our students began creating their  Egyptian masks.  Joel Kuschner and Tracy Walthard  guided the  students through the importance of masks in the Egyptian culture and actually making the masks in the art room.  While it was messy, the masks always end up looking great!

Girls Basketball Teams Compete in Scramble

Our 7th and 8th grade girls, coached by Christine Neles and Mike Minigan, participated in a Middle School Sports League basketball scramble on Monday organized by Presentation in our gym. In scramble rules, no score was kept but our girls did a fantastic job and enjoyed the free throw contest and knock-out competition at the end of the day.

Free Rice Project Providing Hundreds of Meals

Natalie Gulrajani and Aria Schuler's world hunger service project has been a smashing success in the middle school.

You may recall that they are using a website called freerice.com, where students answer academic questions to earn grains of rice. Every correct answer gives 10 grains of rice to children in need.

So far, the 7th and 8th graders participating during faith class have earned enough rice for 704 meals.  The goal is 1000 meals.  The site is appropriate for all ages and all grades are invited to do it from home as well.
