Kinders Enjoy Action Packed Halloween Week

Blog by Audrey --

We did candy corn math with our buddies. It was a lot of fun. We measured the candy corn and used it to count. We carved our class pumpkin. We counted the seeds in groups of ten. There were 877 seeds! Mrs. Miller took the seeds home and made pumpkin pie and baked the seeds. It was very good.

On Halloween day we got to dress up in our costumes. All of them were GREAT IDEAS! We had a parade around the school in all our great costumes! We came back to class we had games in the classroom and played musical chairs. Then we had a class party. Then we had a Big carnival. My favorite game was were you put a gummy and cover it with whip cream and have to get the gummy but only using your face and you get to eat the left over whip cream. We got to do a jumpy house. It was a super fun day.
Honoring Veteran's Day

"You're A Good Man Charlie Brown"
Update from Flo Galvez

Dear Presentation School Community,

It was a great two days of auditions for our upcoming Spring Musical, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 came out to either sing and/or read for the roles of Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Patty, Schroeder and Snoopy, plus many other characters in the Peanuts' universe.  It was an excellent chance for me to see some of the great student talent of The Presentation School.  I hope to more students will try their hand at Drama in the near future.  Some of our students have signed up to perform backstage duties as well.

The Spring Musical will be part of a new Elective simply entitled: The Musical.  Students will not only prepare for the Spring Musical, but they will learn various aspects of musical theater and performance.

I am honored to join the wonderful Presentation School community in teaching and directing You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.  It is my hope that the entire community will enjoy our production and the simple, humorous, yet thoughtful life lessons that the musical's writer and composer Clark Gesner, gained inspiration from the genius of Charles M. Shultz.

Work on the musical begins Tuesday, Nov. 19.  The dates of performance are March 13 & 14, 2014. Music Teacher Lynn McArthur is our wonderful Musical Director for the production.  We look forward to seeing everyone at the show!

Sincerely,
Flo Galvez, Drama Teacher/Director
