Greetings!

A message from Nancy Waarich-Fischman...

Words fail me as I write my last letter to you.

Little did I realize that a one-year contract would turn into the five most exciting years I could ever imagine. To our parents and families, thank you for entrusting your most precious children to our care. The many ways you support Presentation is truly amazing and sustains our work of educating your children.

To the Trustees (past and present), thank you for the opportunity to be part of the vision to create a Catholic faith-based independent school in the Sonoma Valley. We have come a long way, and will to grow in the coming years.

To the faculty and staff I have had the privilege of working with, I couldn't have done anything without you. Your dedication to our mission, vision and to our students is limitless. The love you put into your teaching goes beyond the classroom subjects extending to educating the whole child and caring for each soul in your care.

To the Presentation students, thank you for always making my day, for the smiles, the hugs, the jokes, and your love of life. May you continue to focus on becoming outstanding individuals who love God, who treat all with respect and know that you are the person who can make a difference in our world. While I might not see you every day, know that you are in my heart and my prayers. Thank you for the wonderful memories you have given me.

May God bless you.
Nancy

School Fascinated by Visit

From Discovery Channel's Storm Chaser

Sean Casey

Sean Casey is an IMAX filmmaker and professional storm chaser who starred in the American documentary reality television series Storm Chasers. He created an IMAX film called 'Tornado Alley' about chasing tornadoes and built the Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV) and the Tornado Intercept Vehicle 2 (TIV2) to film inside a tornado. Presentation was fortunate to have Sean come speak to a packed house of students in the library Monday about his experiences.

Led by the first grade, since the storms, Presentation has raised more than $2,000 for the victims of the tornados in Oklahoma.

Kinders & Second Grade Finish Year Strong
Dairy
Our kinder students finished the year with a trip to Neles Dairy and the culmination of their Lenten project, together with second grade, raising money for Heifer International.

The two classes chose to save coins for Heifer International because they were drawn to the organization's mission of "working with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the Earth." Both classes did small chores around the house and brought in their coins weekly, which ended last week, and have decided to purchase a group of chicks, a group of ducks, a bee hive and a goat to send to needy communities in an effort to help them become more self-sufficient. Great job to all involved!
Presentation Students Help Raise $63,000 for Arts Education
Girls
Seven of our middle school students, under the leadership of school parents Rosemary McNeely and Linda Hamilton, performed a flamenco dance routine and staged live performance art at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art's Saturday evening Granada Nights Wet Paint fundraiser. The girls were the centerpiece of the Fund A Need live auction to support arts education in Sonoma.  Thanks to the girls fantastic performance and art demonstration, the event raised $63,000, a new arts education  record for the event.
