Fund a Need Expands School Classrooms
By now you have heard what a great time was had by all who attended our 13th Annual Golf Tournament dinner on Cinco de Mayo. Scott Parker, our future Head of School, presented his vision for this year's Fund a Need, EXPANDING OUR CLASSROOMS. New awnings, tables, umbrellas and trees willd allow our students to learn beyond the four walls of a classroom and in doing so will help them grow mentally, physically and spiritually. Even though you may have missed the dinner, you can still donate to the Golf Tournament's Fund a Need, just call or e-mail Nancy Bei.

Presentation Students Excel at Townwide Writer's Faire
Congratulation to our 17 students who received honors for their writing at the recent Rotary Club townwide Middle School Writer's Faire. While the winners were not broken out by school, it definitely appeared that Presentation had more students being honored than any other middle school. The students were feted at a reception at the Lodge.

Art Fair This Week on May 23
Our "Hats Off To Art" Fair will be May 23 at 5:30pm. We will be proudly displaying more than 500 pieces of our students' amazing art work created throughout the year. This year, we will be adding fun activities to the event. Our 2013 Trashion Fashion artists will be modeling their outfits and our 7th and 8th grade will be displaying their kinetic sculptures (aka marble mazes). There will be face painting, a surprise art activity and the popular raffle baskets!
Students have a final art assignment of creating a hat to wear to the fair (parents are welcome to as well!).
Volunteers are needed to hang art and as you know, each class always creates a themed basket for our raffle. This is always a highlight of the night for our students. You should have heard from your room parent as to your grade's theme and where to drop your donations.

School Yard Online Grading and Directory
In lieu of the printed school family directories we have used in the past, all parent information is now kept up to date on School Yard which is easily accessible from the front page of our web site. The benefit of School Yard is that your teacher announcements, student grades and the directory are all now in one place. If you still like having a printed directory, it is easy to click "print" for your child's grade or the entire school and to put that printed version in your binder. If you have any trouble accessing the directory, please contact Mrs. Wallace in the office.
The directory is only as accurate as the information provided by parents, however. If any of your contact information has changes, please log in here to update your listing.

8th Grader Honored By Gifted Institute
Congratulations to 8th grader Renee Serota who was recently honored by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth gifted program as achieving one of the highest scores in the State of California on the English section of the SAT college entrance exam as an 8th grader! Renee scored a 720 out of 800 on that section -- likely a higher score than many of us grown-ups can recall getting on the SAT in our senior year!
Renee achieved a certificate for Highest Honors at a ceremony in the East Bay. She will be attending Marin Academy in the fall.
