Spring Music Revue
California, Here I Come!
Music review
More than 250 parents turned out this weekend to enjoy the musical revue, "California Here I Come!"  The crowd seemed to love the talented and enthusiastic performances of our children.
Music

Many thanks to our students Jane Coneybeer, Catherine Flaherty, Natalie Gulrajani, Sarah Lamp, Layla McDermott, Sienna Ryan and Aria Schuler who were our playwrights.  And to our stage managers Alexandra Garber and Nikki Sandhu, and runners Maggie Nugent, Sienna Ryan, Owen Walthard and Elena Golubovich.

Kudos to Lynn McArthur, Laura Wallace, Vanessa Roglien, Alexa Redner, Kelly Crist, Doug Atwood, Ryan Granko, David Hussey, Rich Little, Kevin McGovern, Glen Andi and all of our fabulous classroom teachers for all their help.

Admissions Update
Welcome
Our first round of admissions is over and we were pleased to send our contracts to more than two dozen families in grades K-8 over the past week.  We have several more tours scheduled and expect enrollment to be up almost 10 percent next year.  If you have seen our facebook page or our web site recently, you have seen some of our cute kindergarten students welcoming the class of 2022.
Presentation 8th Graders Ponder High School Options
MA Screen
Great minds think alike! Notice our recent grad Kiki Couchman (with glasses) welcoming the newly accepted freshman on the Marin Academy web site.

As for our current 8th graders, they have received their acceptance letters for next year and as soon as they make their choices, we'll report on where the class is headed for high school.

Congratulations to 7th grader Alexandra Garber who advanced from first place at the Sonoma County Science Fair to compete in the San Francisco Regional Science Fair. At that competition on Wednesday night, she came in 3rd place in the category of environmental science!
Students Reflect on Holy Week
Holy Week
Holy Week is the last week of Lent and the week before Easter. It includes the religious holidays of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, (Holy Thursday), Good Friday and Holy Saturday.   Sunday we celebrate Easter.

On Monday, our 8th grade will be be leading a holy week reflection on the significance of Palm Sunday, and Dogwood poem (http://www.ellenbailey.com/poems/ellen_140.htm).

On Thursday, our 4th grade will re-enact the Stations of the Cross at 11:30am in the Activity Center; parents and families are invited.
Important Notes Re: April Hot Lunch

Click HERE to download the April hot lunch form.  Please take a moment to cross-reference it to any field trips that your child might have this month, however.

Please be advised that upon our return from spring break, it will be April 8, so it is important that you fill out and return the form before school lets out.
NEW SESSION OF PERKS HAS JUST BEGUN!

Download spring perks information sheet here. Most classes open to ages 5 and up.

Zero Period Band Concert
Zero period Band
Our school band ensemble staged a mini-concert in March in the library that was greatly enjoyed by all in attendance. The zero period practices will resume after break when Aaron Redner returns from his concert tour. Check out the video above of what our students accomplished in just a few short practices. Students are welcome to join in the fun at any time.  We are truly fortunate to offer this free music enrichment program!
Lauren Miller Welcomed Baby Boy Maxwell
Maxwell
Congratulations to Lauren Miller and her husband Greg on the birth of their baby son Maxwell in February!
Re-enrollment Contracts Are Overdue
Enrollment
If you have not yet returned the re-enrollment contract for your child you must phone or see Nancy Fischman this week. We have a number of students on a waiting list for next year to join our school.  It is crucial that we have signed paperwork from existing families as we plan admissions offers and teacher hiring for the 2013-2014 school year.  Thank you for your prompt attention.
