24 October is World Polio Day ... an occasion to recommit ourselves towards eradication of polio.

We have managed to bring down the number of polio endemic countries to three and are `this close' in achieving our aim of a polio-free world. But the fact remains that as long as the polio virus exists any place in the world, we will be at risk.

This issue of OFN is dedicated to bringing you news and stories about our ongoing battle against polio. In our forthcoming issues, we would like to share with our readers your initiatives and activities of the World Polio Day. Please do send these to us.

Rotary regards,
