PDG Eddie Blender,
RGHF Founding Member, and Publisher of Our Foundation Newsletter
Greetings!

I edited my high school newspaper and yearbook from 1949 to 1950 and was a newspaper reporter through college and then edited my dental school yearbook in 1958.

I edited newsletters in most every organization to which I belonged and when I was invited to join Rotary, in 1992, I was asked to and I wrote the club and district newsletter.

TRF Trustee Lynn Hammond asked that I write a Rotary Foundation Newsletter when he was elected an RI Director in 1999 and that monthly publication eventually morphed into the "Our Foundation Newsletter". This is issue #135 (over 12 years) of Our Foundation.

Editors have to be prolific readers of lots of material and by virtue of that editing responsibility they acquire (indirectly) a lot of - in this case Rotary knowledge. I believe that led to many of the great RI appointments that were offered to me.

Would you like to teach the nuances of Rotary and educate your newer Rotarians? Appoint them to be in charge of the club's newsletter.

As always this issue #135 was a pleasure to put together. I hope you enjoy it as much I enjoyed writing it.

Very truly yours

Eddie Blender, Publisher
