What Paul Harris Said
RGHF History Day

What Paul Harris Said, a feature of RGHF since December 2001.
Paul Harris
Paul P. Harris, Founder of Rotary 23 February 1905

Notes from Paul Harris' 1934 trip to London, the club we highlight in this feature. "...Tuesday evening the London Rotary players, under the able management of Stanley Leverton, presented a comedy to a packed house in a London theater. Stanley personally took the title role and a most finished actor he proved to be. Whether portraying the part of a quiet country gentleman, or that of a roving and ranting buccaneer, he was triumphant. Salvos of applause followed every act and curtain calls were without number. It may be well to omit mention of the very delicate compliment which Stanley, the actors and the audience managed to pay me during the course of the evening, other than to say that it was, I am sure, far beyond my deserts..."
