Coffee Morning at Food & Friendship, Aug 2014
We welcomed new volunteers Allan and Alison at our coffee morning in August.
Food & Friendship is a registered charity and partners with Warners Bay Baptist Church as a community outreach. Other Partners include Foodbank and OzHarvest who deliver food and essential items which allows the shop to provide a wide range of products and fresh produce for those most in need.
F & F Admin, Rani Prasad-Ferris writes:
Manager at Food & Friendship, Helen was delighted to meet with your group yesterday and also thrilled to receive the various potted herbs, etc. Helen and her team are looking forward to your future meetings on our premises.
Food & Friendship working with JobQuest take students from Warners Bay High School and Wakefield High School each week. We aim to build up self-confidence and increase their self-esteem though their involvement here with all our team. We aim to provide these students with skills which will enable them to be better equipped when they enter the work force. They gain skills and experiences as a barista, stacking shelves, customer relations, working as part of a team and being able to understand instructions and take directions to complete the tasks assigned to them. Here at F and F, relationships are developed and we nurture them in a way where they feel valued and cherished. We look forward to working closely with you and are excited about future developments between us.
Helen (centre) accepts seedlings donated by WBCG volunteers Allan, Di, Alison, Harrison, Donna & Trish.
