Council has been deliberating about the amount of "no-parking" signs to be installed along Cherry Road. These were a requirement of council as part of the consent conditions of the DA. The amount of signage has been argued as excessive and subsequently sent back to the council traffic department for further work. Hopefully some agreement will be forthcoming soon and not delay the project any further.

Almost 4 years ago, on 27th June 2010, WBCG volunteers built a new garden bed at Honeybee Pre-School (formerly Jacaranda Pre-school). The garden was stocked with vegetables and herbs and tended by the young pre-school children. The garden is a busy spot at the pre-school as the children learn about growing and eating fresh food. WBCG continues to support the garden at Honeybee Pre-school by providing vegetable and herb seedlings. Pre-school owner Melissa says
"Preparing, planting and harvesting produce is a fun and important part of our early childhood education curriculum, here at Honeybee Preschool.
When children are actively involved with the maintenance of the vegetable patch they develop an understanding of the environment, water conservation, ecology, erosion, lifecycles and the benefits of healthy eating.
Honeybee preschool would like to warmly thank Warners Bay Community Garden for their partnership with our early childhood education centre and the donation of the vegetable patch and their ongoing assistance providing seedlings and planting advice".

Eleebana Public School Assistant Principal Mr Nathan May invited WBCG members to attend a meeting with year 6 students for a question and answer session. The students are writing an article on Warners Bay Community Garden to submit to The Herald competition for schools. John and Trish enjoyed the Q & A meeting and answered many thoughtful questions. Best wishes year 6 students with your article for The Herald competition.
