A lot has been happening over the last few months. We can proudly say we recently achieved the following milestones in regards to the DA:
- Vegetative Management Plan (VMP) approved
- Land Use Agreement approved
- Member's Manual (Operating Manual) approved
- Construction Certificate (CC) issued
Also, if you've been past Bunya Park recently you may have noticed the nice shiny new bollards that have been installed by council. Our understanding is that all the old wooden bollards around the park will eventually be replaced by council as part of their normal maintenance plans in Lake Macquarie. What this means for WBCG is that the first stages of construction will be able to commence very soon.

We are calling for volunteers to participate with a team to oversee the planning and scheduling for construction of Phase 1 of the garden. This is a very exciting time and there is lots of work to be done to get those garden beds in Bunya Park. We would love you to be involved, so the first meeting will be at the Lions Club hall on Sunday 6th April at 2pm. We would especially like to encourage members with the following skills/facilities to join the team:
- Project management skills
- Material storage
- Surveying
- Landscaping
- Native plants
- Bobcat equipment and/or driver
- etc...
Please register your interest before the weekend by contacting Collis on 0416 221 762 or via the Contact Us form on the website.
