Farmers Markets - Speers Point
With the sun shining and a cool breeze, our debut at the Lake Macquarie Farmers Markets last Saturday could not have been on a more perfect day. Once again the enthusiasm and support of the community was really appreciated and people are eager to hear anything new regarding the DA and when we can make a start in Bunya Park. The Farmers Markets at Speers Point are held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 8am to 1pm. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for up to date information about future stalls.

Greenhouse Update
Our existing greenhouse has proved invaluable to the quality and quantity of seedlings we've managed to produce. A small, dedicated team of volunteers have graciously been volunteering their time and effort tending the seedlings. A second greenhouse was donated to the group recently which will be setup at another location soon. |

Mango Madness
If you're fortunate enough to have an established mango tree in your garden, then this year may well prove to be the best you've ever seen! It all comes down to the weather. Most trees failed to set fruit last season due to almost continuous wet conditions over spring. This year is predicted to be very conducive for fruit to be set and held through into summer. To help them along, spray a very diluted seaweed solution onto the flowers to assist with preventing anthractnose disease and ensure the growing fruit is protected by fruit fly using organic fruit fly control products or exclusion bags. Good luck!
