Monthly Newsletter March 2010
Warners Bay Community Garden
Greetings!

Welcome to the March newsletter of the Warners Bay Community Garden.
Whilst we're patiently waiting for council to sort out the decision over Bunya Park, our members are keeping busy with many activities, namely:
  • Composting
  • Seed raising
  • Market stalls
  • Garden design
If you would like to participate in any of these, please visit the forum or contact Trish on (02) 4947 1821 secretary@warnersbaycommunitygarden.org
Compost Working Bee
As many of you will know, we have been developing a pile of compost in anticipation of council allocating us a site. We have received two generous offers of horse manure to add to our growing compost pile, BUT we need to collect it. We therefore need some willing volunteers to shovel the manure into trailers.

A working bee has been proposed for Saturday 20 March at 1pm, meeting at the Lions Club, King Street Warners Bay. If we have enough helpers then we can split into two groups, one working at a Cherry Road property, and the other at New Lambton Heights. One or two trailers at each location would be really useful. And bring a shovel if you can.

If you are able to help out then can you please contact Jane Oakley on 4023 0908 or by email (admin@ctcharlestown.com.au). For many of us this will be the first chance to get our gardening hands dirty! I hope you will be able to join us.
Come See The Community Garden!

... well, the paper version anyway. Our design team has been busy compiling ideas from the group and has come up with an amazing first-draft for how the garden might look.

This will be a family picnic in Bunya Park to celebrate the occasion. The whole family is welcome!

When: Sunday 28th March, midday
Where: Bunya Park Eleebana
BYO: food, drinks, chairs and ideas
Market Stall
Our regular market stall will be held on Sunday 11th April, 2010 at the Lions Club Markets, John Street, Warners Bay.
Market time is 8.00am - 1.00pm.

The seedling growers will have a variety of organic vegetable and herb seedlings available.

Come along and meet our friendly seedling growers, pick up a few seedlings and register your support for the establishment of a community garden in Bunya Park.

This is a great way to meet other interested gardeners so if you're able to grow seedlings or just help out on the day, please contact Trish.
