Wichita's hub for arts and entertainment is Downtown.
"The Hole" on Douglas has been filled, and is in the final stage of transforming into a temporary urban park in the core of our City! To celebrate, and kick off activities in the park, the Wichita Downtown Development Corporation (WDDC) will hold a Grand Opening on Friday, September 25, 2015. Art galleries, museums and shops around Wichita stay open late and welcomes visitors for the Final Friday art crawl. Recognizing Downtown is the artistic and cultural center for the region, the Q-line trolley transports art lovers through out venues in Downtown Wichita.

Enjoy one of the two performances of Verdi's Don Carlo by the Wichita Grand Opera this week in Downtown Wichita. The star studded production at Century II commemorates the reunion of Wichita native opera star Samuel Ramey and Italian opera star Annalisa Raspagliosi.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, that takes place in Downtown at WaterWalk, is the world's largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer ever. 100% of net proceeds from the race are allocated to their mission to cure cancer.

The Wagonmasters Chili Cookoff will take over the streets of Downtown Wichita at Douglas and St. Francis and fill them with chili enthusiast and taste testers. An expected crowd of over 9,000 will eagerly line up to taste the best chili in the midwest.

KMUW is celebrating its move to Old Town with a free concert series kicking off September 26 in the Farm and Art Market Plaza. See live performances of the superb music curated by KMUW music show hosts every night on 89.1 FM.

Since debuting in 1995 with their classic self-titled first album, Foo Fighters have steadily grown into the last great American arena/stadium rock band. See hits Everlong, Monkey Wrench, and My Hero live and in person at INTRUST Bank Arena on Sept. 30.
