Independence Day Block Party

July 4

The Wichita Parks Foundation is hosting the inaugural Independence Day Block Party in Downtown! The community block party will be a day long event from 1:00 - 10:30pm and will have food venders, family activities, concerts, fireworks and much more! Slide the City

A 1000 ft long slip and slide will be laid out on Maple Street between the Lewis Street Bridge and Sycamore during the Independence Day Block Party. Purchase a wristband to join in on the cool summer fun that is happening Downtown.

Fireworks Return Downtown!

Fireworks over the river return to Downtown this year for the Independence Day Block Party! The firework show starts at the 10:00pm and there will be music to accompany the show throughout the Block Party area, or on the radio at 97.1 BOB FM.


Family Night July 2 On the first Thursday of every month, the Museum of World Treasures in Downtown extends their hours and reduces admission! For only $5 a person and free for children under four, the entire family can have an adventurous time at the museum.	Billy Elliot July 8 - 12 Join Music Theatre of Wichita for the debut of Elton John's Billy Elliot at Century II. The electrifying musical tells the tale of a young boy that is set to take boxing lessons, but stumbles his way in to the world of dance, which transforms his entire community.	Diversity Job Fair July 8 The Statewide Diversity Job Fair provides job seekers the opportunity to interview with numerous companies at Century II in Downtown Wichita. Employers in various industries will be in attendance and will be in search of potential employees at this one day event.
