2014 was a transformational year for Downtown Wichita. Over 260 new residential units opened, boosting the Downtown population to 1,872 people, and 550 residential units are currently under construction or in planning. Over $30 million of investment by the private and public sectors positioned Downtown for expanded growth in 2015 and beyond. Property values continue on a positive trend upwards since the implementation of Project Downtown in 2010.
