 Wichita's hub for arts, entertainment & holiday fun is Downtown!

Dec. 6 

This Saturday, head Downtown to WaterWalk for a free family Christmas Parade! Food trucks will be serving food beginning at noon, followed by the KWCH 12 and Heartspring Christmas Parade at 1pm. After the parade, WaterWalk will host free activities for families to enjoy including a meet and greet with Santa, s'mores, hay-wagon rides and face painting. The parade will run from the north side of Lawrence-Dumont Stadium down McLean Boulevard and over to WaterWalk.

Through Dec. 25

Visitors and the community are encouraged to walk or drive through beautiful light displays in Downtown Wichita at WaterWalk presented by Heartspring. Lights will be open from sundown through 10pm Nov. 28 through Dec. 25. Entry to the lights on south Water Street from Waterman to Dewey. This event is free and open to the public.

Dec. 10

The Wichita Symphony presents their annual gift to the community, the Spirit of the Season Free Family Holiday Concert at Century II on December 10.

Dec. 6

 Be part of the largest holiday race series aimed to fight arthritis! The Jingle Bell Run, celebrating its 27th year in Wichita, starts at Exploration Place with both a one and four mile course.

Through Dec. 20

Visit unique shops and restaurants then enjoy a free horse drawn carriage ride in Old Town Square from noon-4pm every Saturday!


Dec. 5

  Trans-Siberian Orchestra will perform their rock opera, The Christmas Attic, live for the first time in arenas across the nation on their Winter Tour 2014 at INTRUST Bank Arena. 

Wichita Choral Society

Dec. 7

The 69th annual performance of Handel's Messiah will be performed at FUMC by the Wichita Choral Society at 2pm. Admittance is just $10 at the door.

The Wichita Community Children's Choir is an enrichment opportunity in choral music education. The WCCC's Winter Prelude Concert costs $5 at the door. 


Dec. 6

Performers twirl, bounce and soar through the air to original music & seasonal favorites brought to life within a stage setting of gigantic gifts, colossal candy canes and more!

Dec. 9

Celebrate the beloved Christmas tradition with the whole family as forty world-class Russian artists bring this charming classic to life. Presented by the Moscow Ballet at Orpheum Theatre.

Opening reception for Clay for the Cause: Small Works Holiday Show at the Fiber Studio in the Commerce Arts District. Show features artists David Self, Dylan Seeney and more!

Bring the family to Cowtown's annual old-fashioned Christmas celebration! There will be a mix of nostalgic and new activities during the events.

Dec. 2 - 13

To reminisce of a time when gifts were handmade, toys built by guild members will be on display at the museum and will be sold to benefit the museum.

Dec. 7

Santa and his elves return to WAM! Enjoy cookies, live music, artmaking activities and free admission at this annual event sponsored by the Friends of the WAM.

The Santaland Diaries is a hilarious one-man send-up of his brief, misguided career as a Macy's elf. Special vocal appearance by Cindy Summers.

A Bad Christmas Carol

A delightful spoof of the classic Christmas tale presented by Mosley Street Melodrama, Wichita's only audience participation dinner theatre.

Through Dec. 26

Based on the musical Forever Plaid, Plaid Tidings is a funny musical revue chock-full of classic barbershop quartet harmonies and pitch-perfect melodies.

 The Wichita Chamber's Annual Meeting will feature dinner, networking, and Condoleezza Rice as the keynote speaker.  

Eric Church

Dec. 4

 Hailed as a top entertainer by The New York Times, Eric Church is bringing "The Outsiders World Tour" to INTRUST Bank Arena. 

 For the fifth consecutive year, the Wichita State men's basketball team will compete downtown at INTRUST Bank Arena!
