PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Attend a public meeting for the reveal of the Wichita brand data! You're invited to learn the results from more than 1,850 community brand survey responses plus more than 200 interviews. Join us from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Nov. 10 at Wichita Downtown Development Corporation's Design & Innovation Center at 505 E. Douglas. During the meeting, leaders will present the survey results, explain the initial highlights from the feedback and tie the feedback into possible brand themes that would best describe Wichita. Register today, and have your voice heard about Wichita's brand strategy.

Artists, Designers and Illustrators: Will you be the winner of the $3,500 prize? Wichita Festivals has announced the 2015 Poster & Button Art contest for the largest festival in Downtown Wichita - Riverfest! Riverfest is a nine-day event attracting hundreds of thousands of participants from Wichita and across the State of Kansas. All artists 18 years of age and older are invited to submit their poster and button designs for Riverfest 2015. Entry deadline is December 31, 2014.

The City of Wichita would like your input! In the 1990s, a change to the City Code established one-hour and two-hour free parking along Douglas Avenue from the Arkansas River to the elevated rail corridor as well as in areas one block to the north and south of Douglas in this same area. While the parking meters have been removed, many of the meter poles remain. What is your idea for a creative way to repurpose these poles to improve the appearance of the streets and sidewalks in this area of Downtown?
