Wichita's hub for arts and entertainment is Downtown.

Demographics are changing. Community wants and needs are changing. How do we ensure that Wichita attracts and retains talented professionals, provides unique opportunities for its citizens, and is recognized as a place others want to live? Join us for the final keynote in the Fuel the Fire Speaker Series featuring Brad Segal, who will discuss national trends affecting Wichita. This event is free and open to the public and will take place from 5:00-6:00pm at The LUX (120 E. 1st St. N.)

Oct. 30 - Nov. 1

The KNOB New Music Festival is an annual celebration of experimental and unconventional musical disciplines, in the fields of both composition and performance. All shows start at 8pm, doors open at 7:30. Admission each night is $5. Final Friday, Oct. 31 will feature a special art exhibit in addition to the festival concert. Thursday, Oct. 30 starts with music from Francis Moss.

Friday, Oct. 24

Film screening of notorious horror parody at the historic Wichita Orpheum Theatre. A fast-paced potpourri of camp, sci-fi and rock 'n' roll, among other things tracks the exploits of naive couple Brad and Janet after they stumble upon the lair of transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The film, a bizarre musical bombed in its initial release but later gained a cult following at midnight showings.

Friday, Oct. 24

A Halloween-themed food truck meet-up featuring eight trucks, a free trunk-or-treat for kids, meet-and-greets with Eagle writers, hula hoop performers and more. Writers in attendance will include Stan Finger, Denise Neil, Annie Calovich, Carrie Rengers, Beccy Tanner, Suzanne Perez Tobias. Outdoor writer Michael Pearce will be signing copies of his new cookbook.
Friday, Oct. 24

INTRUST Bank Arena announced today a World Series Watch party in support of the Kansas City Royals! 


Watch Game 3 of the World Series on the Arena's center-hung LED hi-res video board, in Guitar Bar, Cox Lounge or the Budweiser BrewPub, all of which will be open. Parking will be free in the Arena parking lots and surround City owned lots. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. This event is free and open to the public.
