Spend an unforgettable night at INTRUST Bank Arena with America's iconic singer-songwriter James Taylor. As a recording and touring artist, James Taylor has touched people with his warm baritone voice and distinctive style of guitar-playing for more than 40 years. He has won multiple Grammy awards and has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Learn more

The Wichita Transit will provide FREE Q Line Shuttle service to the concert this Friday. The public can park at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium and ride the shuttle to INTRUST Bank Arena. Q Line will be running continuously before the concert from 5:45-7:45pm, and then again after the concert from 10pm-midnight.

Bring your lawn chair and head down to Old Town Square for a FREE and fun public concert from local Cajun zydeco band: Mudbugs. Enjoy the summertime weather and live music while visiting local shops and restaurants in Old Town. Concert will last from 6-10pm. Learn More

Grab your tutu and come a-runnin' for the Ballet Wichita 5K Art Run. The celebration of the arts begins 8am in A. Price Woodard Park. Enjoy entertainers along the route, great food at the finish and end the day creating pieces of art with the Silk Experience. Learn more

Starting Friday, teams of 1-15 people will have 24 hours to write, produce, shoot and edit a short film that is six minutes or less. Join filmmakers and judges at the Orpheum on Sunday for the Showcase of the Top 10 Films from the Down To The Wire 24 Hour Film Race! Learn more

The Arts Council 

 

The Arts Council has extended the deadline for accepting nominations for its 45th Annual Art Awards, which will be held on October 30 at the Drury Plaza at the Broadview Hotel. The annual event honors businesses and individuals who have made major creative achievements or significant contributions to the development of the arts in Wichita. There are twelve different nominating categories and final submissions deadline is July 1st. Learn more 
Together Wichita  

 

Together Wichita 2014 is inviting artists of all kinds to represent Wichita in a huge public art project! Keepers on Parade brings together the Wichita community with 10 foot tall fiberglass replicas of the Keeper of the Plains to be painted, adorned and magically transformed by artists for a city-wide display. Are you an artist wanting to partner with an area business to showcase your love for Wichita? Together Wichita wants you to show them what you've got with a detailed proposal due by July 25.
