2014 Wichita River Festival
A Nine Day Party in Downtown for Just $5!

Head Downtown with family, friends and neighbors for the biggest party in Wichita, the 43rd Annual Wichita River Festival! This nine day event starts this Friday and runs though June 7. Riverfest has something for everyone so get ready to raise some Hoopla in Doo-Dah!

A $5 button will give you admittance to every Riverfest  activity all week long and can be purchased at Dillons, QuikTrip, AAA and at the Festival.

The Wichita River Festival is nine days of constant fun! Take part in the popular Sundown Parade, which winds through Downtown on Friday evening, followed by the Koch Industries Twilight Pops Concert and a huge fireworks show! Saturday morning, run in the Kansas Health Foundation River Run then participate in a World Record Attempt for the Longest Line of Bikes at WaterWalk. Sunday check out "A Salute to Aviation," which includes Planes on Main - planes literally lining Main Street in Downtown. Of course, you will also want to float along the Arkansas River in paddle boats and kayaks throughout the Festival, and attend the Final Hooplah: A Laser Light Spectacular with MarchFourth Marching Band presented by Westar Energy.

Family Fun

Grab the kids for some fun in the sun at Riverfest! This year, the children's area has been expanded and kids can enjoy inflatables, carnival rides, a 90-foot Ferris wheel offering $3 rides and a lineup of new educational activities focused on science, math, art and other subjects. The whole family can participate in the Eagle Medallion hunt, the Ice Cream Social on June 4th and can enjoy discount admission into area museums.

Food & Drink

This year's Festival features more food vendors in more locations than ever. Work in Downtown? Head to the Festival during your lunch hour for a variety of food or participate in a Fit'n'Fun activity at the WaterWalk Pavillion with fitWichita. Also this year, A. Price Woodard Park will become a happy hour zone called "Ackerman's Bacyard" featuring a beer garden, live music and food vendors from 4 to 8 p.m. weeknights and all day on weekends.

Music

Throughout Riverfest, live music featuring several local, regional and national acts will be played on multiple stages. A sample of the many acts performing at Riverfest include Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Jerrod Neimenn and Grandmaster Flash, who will DJ the Wet & Wild Neon Dance Party. The festival will also feature several local and regional acts like Carrie Nation & The Speakeasy, DJ Carbon, Japanese Game Show, O'Phil and Vagabond Swing and many others.
