LIFE HAPPENS HERE!
Wichita's hub for arts and entertainment is Downtown.
Friday, Jan 31

As the name implies, Final Friday happens the last Friday of each month. Art galleries, museums, restaurants, and retail shops around Wichita stay open late and welcome visitors to enjoy art work and art demonstrations from artists, many of which are local. Recognizing that Downtown is the artistic and cultural center for the region, the Q-Line trolley transports art lovers between venues. Learn More

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC INPUT

Douglas Avenue Underpass

The WDDC was recently awarded $75,000 from the Knight Foundation through the Wichita Community Foundation in order to derive design concepts that will revitalize the historic Douglas Avenue underpass from its current status into an inviting Downtown gateway. The overall "vision" is to transform the underpass from the eyesore and barrier that it is in its current state, to an inviting gateway into our Downtown that not only serves as a landmark of distinction but also a public space for the community to engage and interact through technology, social media and the arts. The first public input meeting is Thursday, February 13, 5:30 - 7:00pm at the WDDC Design & Innovation Center (505 E. Douglas Ave).

Century II Performing Arts Survey

The consultants for Wichita's performing arts assessment have launched a survey to receive input from organizations and artists that have an interest in using the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center - or a potential new arts center - as a site for their current or future events. The survey is posted online at WichitaArts.com. All responses received by Wednesday, Feb. 12 will be incorporated. Feedback from the community will help assess the best approach to serve the future performing arts and entertainment needs of the Wichita community, including the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center.
