The Junior League of Wichita presents their 10th Annual Holiday Galleria this weekend at Century II Expo Hall. Holiday Galleria is an upscale shopping event featuring more than 100 regional and national merchants. General single day admission is $10. In conjunction with Holiday Galleria other events will be held including:

The Prairie Fire Marathon includes a marathon, half marathon, and 5K in and around Downtown. Prior to race day on Oct 12 at Century II will be the Fit for LIFExpo full of resources about fitness, registration, and packet pick-up. That night will also be the Pasta Dinner at the Hyatt Regency. Cole Warner and Breanna Long hope to take advantage of the fitness craze CrossFit, with their new Train Insane CrossFit gym. Warner is a former Friend's University football player and Long is a former Valley Center cheerleader. A public forum on historic preservation statutes will be held at 10am October 15 at City Hall (455 N. Main). The city will review options in response to a change in state historic preservation law. Based on public feedback, the council will direct city staff how to deal with the recent changes in regards to ordinances.
