Justice for Solider
Thursday, January 26, 2017
8:15 am
Suffolk County District Court
400 Carleton Avenue
Central Islip, NY 11722

Rescue community and members of the public will attend to show unity and a demand for justice for Soldier, the canine who was found dead in the backyard of Veleda Bailey while she flipped burgers on her BBQ with her children played around his carcass.  The five surviving dogs were terribly emaciated and in very bad condition; all of which have been seized.  Please help us to ensure that the laws of Suffolk County are enforced by the courts.  This is not about politics nor is it about the economy.  This is about ensuring justice is brought to bear for Soldier, a dog that wanted nothing more than a loving home, but was instead allowed to perish on a chain due to gross negligence and torture.  Please help us affect positive change in the name of Soldier by forcing the courts to serve a sentence to this woman as an example.  If not, more dogs and cats will suffer the abuse that the very system we count on to protect us are neglecting.  For more information click here.

Adoption Corner!

Kadima
is a sweet, friendly male cat that came to Pets Alive as a result of a hoarding situation in May 2015. But that hasn't hindered his progress since he's come to Pets Alive. He's a very loving guy, likes other cats and will let you pet him all day long! He's also very playful and would love a forever home. He's on a special diet of ProPlan Urinary Tract food which can be purchased at a pet store. Kadima is available for adoption - come and meet him and fall in love!

Meet Squirrel and Harry (white and grey). They're best buds and need a home together. These two cats have the best personalities. Unfortunately they both have chronic upper respiratory problems and will need medications for the rest of their lives. We've had them here for over a year now and they're finally ready to find that special someone who is willing to give them the continuous care they need. These two are both under a year and a half old. If you're interested in adopting them, please ask for them by name.

Onyx

Joy is
a very sweet female mix breed who is about 4 years old.

Ask to see her out of her kennel - she is a totally different dog. Calm, sweet and eager to please.

Joy walks nicely on a leash and knows sit and come.

She passed her evaluations and tested well with everyone (dogs, cats, humans).
