Adoption Corner!
Hi, My name is Hennessey. I am a georgeous brindle boxer. I am just 3 years old. I had a good life prior to ending up at the shelter. I had my own baby sister..then BOOM! They had to move and didn't have room for me. I am a friendly girl. The shelter uses me to train all the volunteers. Nobody can understand why I have been waiting behind these bars for a whole year. Now, on top of everything I have been diagnosed with a heart condition that is common with my breed. Please, take me home!

Meet Richie! He enjoys long, leisurely walks and walks wonderfully on a leash. He knows several commands including sit, down and shake and loves to play fetch. Richie is very loyal - when he loves you, it's forever- his eyes and his heart will follow you everywhere! Richie would do best in a calm home environment where he can feel secure in giving 100% of his loyalty. Richie does get along with other dogs but not cats. He is about 7 years old.

Charlie was recently featured in a story on BarkPost: http://barkpost.com/good/dog-hit-by-car-with-limp-wants-adopted/
50 lb Charlie is a lovebug & it doesn't take him long to love you, roll over for belly rubs & give lots & lots of kisses! He loves his toys & while he gets along with dogs, he would prefer to be your only pet. Charlie is housetrained, knows "sit" & "place". He would be best in a home with kids 13+. He really is a special dog, he is the mushiest dog we have in our rescue, he just loves to love & has a heart of gold.

Meet Elijah! This incredible boy has been renting a room at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter for over 3 years now. He's looking to move out into a more permanent living situation. He's an active single guy who enjoys running, and playing with toys but is also content with sitting with you on the couch and watching a movie or reading. His favorite past time is getting his back scratched and will keep you warm during the cold winter nights by snuggling up really close to you. If this is your dream man, come meet him at:
